Khao Yai is Thailand’s oldest and second largest National Park covering an area of more than 2000 square km just two hours form Bangkok situated mainly in Nakhon Ratchasima Province (near Khorat), but also includes parts of Saraburi, Prachinburi and Nakhon Nayok provinces. The natural environment of thickly forested hillsides, rushing streams, and cascading waterfalls provides a haven for golfers and numerous species wildlife including tigers, gaur, monkeys, deer, pigs elephants, leopards and tropical birds. In recognition of its unique natural character, Khao Yai has recently been named a World Heritage site.
While popular with local Thais, not many visitors know about golf in Khao Yai. At the park’s borders, there are numerous golf resorts, hotels, and championship golf courses all set amid breathtaking surroundings that allows golfers to escape busy Bangkok and enjoy their golf in beautiful mountain scenery, cooler temperatures, and a relaxing and clean environment. Khao Yai is a world apart from the better known Thailand golf destinations ideal as the basis for a weekend getaway or an added destination on a multi-stop holiday.
